New Trustee - Welcome Ben Lukowski

Published Sunday, 1st December 2024

We are delighted to welcome Ben as a Trustee of the charity. A former Royal Marine Commando from Hucknall, Nottingham, Ben served for 16 years before sustaining a life-changing brain injury in a car accident in 2022, which led to his medical discharge.

True to his character, Ben refused to be defined by adversity and instead found a powerful route to recovery through adaptive sport.

Since then, Ben has achieved outstanding success, winning two gold medals in indoor rowing at the 2025 Invictus Games, helping his team secure fourth place in sitting volleyball, and finishing second in the Ultimate Champion event at the U.S. Wounded Warrior Trials.

His remarkable journey continues as he sets his sights on the 2028 Paralympics, embodying resilience, determination and the transformative power of sport.

We are proud to have Ben join us as a Trustee and look forward to the insight, inspiration and lived experience he brings to the Board.
